A very dear friend of mine has set up a Facebook Page called Shave for Lia as well as her official donations page here. In her own words, here’s what she’s doing and why:
“My friend, Lia Halsall is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment following two breast cancer surgeries. She has felt nothing less than supported and loved by the staff at The Wesley Hospital and in particular, the Kim Walters Think Pink Think Choices Foundation. They are a community organisation supporting women with breast cancer by providing support and advice on how to feel human during the whole treatment experience. They rely on donations alone. In support of the great work they do, I am aiming to raise at least $5000 by no later than March, when Lia will shave my hair off and I can support her even in just a small way by knowing how it feels to lose your hair. Breast and gynaecological cancers will affect most of us, either directly or through a loved one, at some point in our lives. So please donate generously to help this fantastic cause! Thank you

Think Pink Think Choices is the fundraising arm of The Kim Walters Choices Program (Choices) at The Wesley Hospital and aims to raise $850,000 per year to fund the work carried out by Choices. Choices is a unique community service offering information, friendship and support for women, men and their families who have been affected by a breast or gynaecological cancer diagnosis. Choices is a free community service offered regardless of where surgery and treatment have been received. Choices is funded entirely through the generosity of the community and receives no ongoing financial support from the government or other cancer organisations.
So please, if you haven’t already please donate to Shave for Lia.
Thank you.
