Too often in life we find ourselves getting caught up in this that or there other and temporarily loosing focus of the path we’ve chosen to travel in life. It’s happened to me more often than not and I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling this way.

What it all boils down to is the fact that we’re not keeping it simple. Not by a long shot. How do I know, I know because yet again I’ve found myself in this very position. So today I’ve had to flick that switch off before it became completely unproductive. It’s not the first time I’ve had to do it and I doubt it’ll be the last.

Life isn’t always going to be easy, far from it. Actually is seldom is so waiting for that day when life miraculously becomes easier in my opinion is an unrealistic goal/dream. It was never going to happen and the sooner I accepted that fact the better off I was.

So today I made some changes towards getting myself back on track without the overwhelming distractions I find myself spending too much of my time on. Cutting back on things that aren’t as important in the big scheme of things to allow more time to spend on things that are more important to me.

I made the decision then followed it through with a positive change. By doing this allowed me to get back on track. I refused to waste time beating myself up with negative talk and/or self-loathing. I just got on with it and kept focussing on what’s important and right in front of me.

Today’s what really matters, I’ll deal with tomorrow when it gets here. By keeping it simple allows me to get on with my life and achieve my goals and dreams. Remember nothing’s impossible!

Starting over is where I’m currently at in life at the moment. Or maybe because I’m turning “40″ this year, it’s an early middle-age crisis. Or maybe it was an epiphany. Who know’s what exactly it is or what it’s called, but it’s a change, a permanent change and a feeling of starting over again hopefully with better and brighter results this time.

But over the past year whilst I was deployed overseas I had a lot of time to myself to ponder and think about life, my life. It gave me time to deal with things I’d previously not dealt with and make some choices and decisions about what I wanted and where I was going with my life once I got back home to Australia.

Something I heard recently really resonated with me and that was, there’s no point looking in the rear vision mirror of your life, sooner or later you’re going to crash. And that’s just it damn it, I have to stop looking back and trying to figure out how to right my wrongs. It’s an impossible thing to achieve but here I was, finding myself doing it day in day out. Not anymore.

So from now on it’s forward for me. It’s the only direction I’m prepared to travel. Is it the same as before, I don’t think so. But even if it was it doesn’t matter. It’s the fact that I never ever give up and no matter what life throws at me I always keep trying. Sooner or later I will get there, where ever there is.

No-one or nothing can stop me, except me that is. But I’m too determined and stubborn to give up so that’s not an issue. I’ll just keep soldiering on with my life trying different things until I find what I’m comfortable with and what eventually works.

It’s no longer about where I came from, or where I’m going. It’s all about the journey of getting there.

Save Your Sole is a website I found earlier in the week when I was googling how to care for the soles of my Christian Louboutin’s. Thankfully I found this website first, and what a blessing that was. Like most other ladies who buy these shoes, when you first wear them the red soles tend to start wearing away ever so slightly. Not a desirable outcome. That and because of the amount of money I invested in them, I want to ensure I was taking the very best of care that I possibly could.

Save Your Sole gave me two options: 1. Touch Up Sole Paint, or 2. Designer Soles. I went with option two because in my opinion, the touch up sole paint would be an ongoing process every time I wore them where as the designer soles would be a one-off solution. Here’s a video clip showing you just what the process is from start to finish:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Plus for those that don’t know, Christian Louboutin soles don’t have grip. So they’re incredibly slippery, and I mean slippery. I wore mine out for the first time on the weekend and it was raining. That’s a possible disaster in the making if I wasn’t careful. Hubby kindly allowed me to lock arms with him when we were going in and out of the venue so I didn’t go over and completely embarrass myself.

I bought four half soul pairs, two in red for my Christian Louboutin’s and two in cream for my Jimmy Choo’s. That way, all my designer shoes will be well and truly cared for in the future. That and I won’t have to worry about my virtue anymore when I’m wearing them.

Now all I need to find is a good cobbler in Brisbane to put them on.
