This morning as I was pulling out of my driveway the mailman stopped me to deliver my book I ordered from amazon.com. Kelly & Raechelle I have to thank for this latest purchase, it’s Detox 4 Women. The more informed I am the better my chances are for a full recovery from my adrenal fatigue. This is now my # 1 priority as I can’t move forward in regards to health and fitness unless I’m healthy and fit, makes sense to me. I’ve become quite accustomed and comfortable with taking steps backwards in order to jump forwards. It’s just a part of life and I now realise it’s where I learn my most important lessons in life about myself. The figure competitor in me has been put on hold for the time being so that I can truly focus on my health and well being. My initial goal of achieving and maintaining a healthy mind body and spirit is now my primary driving force to a better life.
As you all know I’m coming up to doing my six weeks detox program. It all kicks off this weekend and I’m doing this for a couple of different reasons. Firstly because of my genetic disposition to store toxins and secondly because of my adrenal fatigue. Because of these reasons I’ll now do this every year to help my system do what it’s supposed to do and ensure I live a happy and healthy lifestyle. I’m actually following the Metagenics Detox recommended by my naturopath Lawrey from Evelyn Faye in Melbourne. Her guidance and suggestions for supplements will ensure I have a very successful detox and if there’s any doubt about anything I can always call her as I totally trust her advice.
So here’s the plan. Friday I’m booked in for the first of three Colon Irrigations to get things moving so to speak. (sorry couldn’t help myself) Then Saturday morning bright and early it’s off to Victoria Markets for my weekly shop for all things organic followed by my second colon irrigation. Then it’s a quick visit to Evelyn Faye to pick up some pro-biotics which I forget to get last weekend when I was there. These are very important, especially whilst I’m having colon irrigations because as well as losing the bad bacteria I’ll also lose my good bacteria. By supplementing I’ll put good bacteria back into my system ensuring I have a safe and healthy detox. Then a week later I’ll have my last of three colon irrigations. Because our large intestine is so incredibly long it takes three sessions to completely cleanse it and instead of stretching out all the appointments they’re closer together to work in conjunction with my six week detox program. If I’m going to do this I’m going to do it properly so that I get the maximum benefit from it.
If you click on the link I provided above you’ll be able to see exactly what information I’m running with in regards to what I can and can’t eat and/or drink. I’ll also for those interested be posting daily about my experience and progression so that should be interesting. I have no doubt the first couple of weeks will be challenging but that’s to be expected when there’s any drastic change to diet. It’s something I need to do so I’m just going to get on with it and I look forward to coming out the other side happier and healthier for it.
