Sunday has rolled around all to quickly again and by the looks of it many bloggers are also traveling through life in the fast lane this year. Is it just me or is this year even busier than last? Mum always told me that every year you get older time goes quicker and she wasn’t wrong. Time is just getting away from us and unfortunately that means sacrifices. This year I haven’t had as much time to leave blog comments like I normally would but I am keeping up with every one’s blogs. Google Reader keeps me up to date with new posts and when I’m lunch breaks thanks to my trusty iPhone I have the time to sit down and read them all. I do try my very best but unfortunately like every body else when life gets busier blogging and commenting is usually the first thing that suffers so there lies this years sacrifice for me.
There’s also another contributing reason which I haven’t mentioned until now. I officially have a second paid job working for Lindy Olsen Enterprises. I’m her personal assistant and have been and continue to be working on a number of different projects which obviously pre-occupies a lot of my time on week nights and weekends. Because I’m already working full-time we’re trialing it out to see how I manage with the workload. Lindy bless her soul doesn’t want me taking on to much with everything that has happened which is so kind of her, always thinking of others. It’s actually very typical of her for those that know her best. When the opportunity presented itself only just recently it made sense I step in considering I was already working with her and knew how she liked to operate. It will also mean a lot more travelling between Melbourne & Brisbane. I’m actually flying up in the next couple of weeks for a four day working weekend. We haven’t seen each other for so long now we’re both having withdrawals from one another, pathetic I know but when you have a best friend like mine it makes perfect sense. She’s a one in a million my Lindy-Lou. Thankfully though we both use skype on our home computers so we talk and work online of an evening but are always respectful of each other’s commitments and time.
When I get there first on the agenda is my sister website to LindyOlsen.com. This is something we’ve both talked about setting up for quite some time and this year it’s going to become a reality. Trimax Solutions & Lindy are building my website and I’m making all the design decisions as well as learning about it’s operating system. I’ve also just recently bought another two website domain names, sitting on them at the moment but possibly more changes in store in the not so distant future. But more about that at a later date.
So this is why my prioritisation and time management skills have had to be completely revamped this year, to fit everything in. Time is of the essence people. LOL!! Life as I knew it no longer exists and every thing’s now very different, even blogging. This is the first of seven blogs I have to prepare today. I type up a weeks worth of blogs and then schedule them for posting on each day of the week. If I require to add further information then I do so as the post already exists, its saves me time during the week which is exactly what I want and need at the moment. So speaking of which, this is the first of seven so I better get a wriggle on with dinner coming up.
Lastly but certainly not least I wanted to say a big congratulations to my very dear friend and fellow blogger Deb. She competed this weekend in not one but two competitions and I’m happy to announce that she placed third in both competitions. We’ve both been blogging and friends since the very beginning together of our personal figure journeys and to be able to share one another’s experiences has been special to say the very least. Deb when you read this I wanted to re-iterate what I’ve already told you and that is I’m so very proud of you and what you’re achieved, you are a true role model for up and coming figure competitors. *mwah*

Deadlifts and squats.

“According to most coaches, these are the foundation of any effective leg routine. While I agree with the fact that these are fantastic exercises, I believe they should come second to unilateral leg movements.
Unfortunately, most women don’t utilize unilateral exercises at all. It’s really a shame because regardless of your training goals, if you’ve omitted incorporating this training technique into your program, you’re seriously neglecting the potential of your legs.” ~ Ali McKee

Day 1: Today was my first day eating my meals and snacks and I have to say they didn’t leave me feeling deprived or hungry so that was good. A little more time and effort needs to be taken when eating fresh food but it’s worth while, nothing ventured nothing gained. My breakfast of scrambled eggs flavoured only with salt and pepper was a little bland for my liking, I still ate them but will have to tweak this recipe for tomorrow morning.Dinner was positively lovely. I made myself a fish boat as I like to call them. Using alfoil I created a boat to seal in the basa fillet, lemon slices, fresh dill and a drizzling of olive oil to put on the bbq plate. When it came out it was positively tender and oh so flavorsome. This I could get used too. But by the end of the evening my detox headache had well and truly kicked in, the things we endure. LOL!!
Day 2: Woke up this morning and yep, the headache’s still there. I’d heard about them, so I’m drinking water to help flush out the system to past this phase. I also felt a little nauseous this morning after breakfast and supplement, this apparently is caused by waste being released too quickly by the lymph glands. Some of the toxic overload is taken by the liver and secreted with bile into the stomach. Drinking water will dilute the bile and toxin mixture helping to flush it from the system so that’s exactly what I did. That and spend a whole lot of time visiting the ladies room. LOL!! What goes in must come out. I solved my bland scrambled eggs problem this morning by making myself an organic salsa from my Low GI Cook Book last night. It’s simple and fresh and added enough flavour and texture to make this meal more palatable, we have a winner ladies and gentleman. LOL!! As for afternoon tea, I’ve just finished eating my nashi. Now yesterday was the first day that I’d ever tried eating nashi’s, it’s my new rule you see to try something different every week. So anyways, although it was juicy it wasn’t really sweet. But today, after 24 hours on this detox I could actually taste it’s sweetness come through. Slowly but surely my taste buds will reset themselves and I’ll get to taste food as it’s meant to be tasted, naturally without all the additives, preservatives, chemicals, herbicide, pesticides the list goes on and on and I’m sure you get the picture. So other than the detox headache things are progressing along better than I’d expected. So today I’m a rather happy little camper.
Day 3: My headache has well and truly set up home in my head. Of course, it’s an uninvited guest so the sooner it leaves the better. LOL!! Today I woke up and felt rather second hand actually. I went for my morning walk but my legs felt like they were filled with led and I was just so tired. Of course in retrospect it couldn’t be any more obvious, I’ve gone from a higher calorie diet to a lower calorie diet so my energy levels will obviously decrease. So tomorrow I’ll rest and walk again on Friday. It’s no wonder they don’t recommend higher intensity training and now I know why. I’m taking my bcaa’s every day so I know I’m preserving my muscle. This is after all a detox and I’m still wrapping my head around this concept of different nutrition and significantly less training.
Other than that the food is all good, actually delicous. Every day it tastes better and better so my taste buds must be re-setting themselves which is great. The scales are dropping every day and already my uniform is getting loser. So far it would only be excess fluid I’m retaining from the larger variety of foods I had previously eaten. And trust me some of them weren’t very good choices either but what’s done is done. So far I’m not craving a single thing which I thought I would’ve by now.
Day 4: I hate to admit it but this is too easy. I was so expecting the worse this week with the side effects and cravings and lets not forget mood swings. But no, it’s been really easy. My only thoughts are that maybe with the two colonics I had last weekend there was very little left in my system to crave like glucose or carbohydrates. What do you think?

This week’s training consists of 30 minutes lifestyle walking as I like to call it. 0600h my alarm goes off and I’m out the door at 0615h. Dylan (Mum’s Pomeranian) and I take a brisk walk outside around where we live before breakfast. It’s fresh, so I’ve pulled out my beanie, scarf and gloves to ensure I’m adequately rugged up. Poor Dylan isn’t as warm and toasty as I am, he was groomed recently so is sporting a rather shorter haircut than normal for this time of year. So first on my pay fortnight shopping list this week is a winter coat for him, poor thing. The crisp morning air is taking some getting used to but it beats being stuck indoors on the treadmill. Thankfully though this week hasn’t been to bad weather wise so I haven’t had to resort to the winter woolies.
Monday’s walk was fine, or so I thought it was. That afternoon I pulled up really quite sore in my left hip flexor but thankfully I had an appointment after work with my myotherapist. Obviously being inactive during my recovery hasn’t helped with this so for this week I’m walking three days a week with a rest day in between. Slow and steady as it goes. And then next week I’ll up it to four days, the following five days and so on and so forth.
I haven’t managed to find the yoga dvd that I’m looking for but I haven’t given up yet. I can buy it from overseas but unfortunately it’s not formatted to view here in Australia. So alas, it’s back to the drawing board. It’s not very exciting in the big scheme of things but essential if I want to benefit from this detox and get on top of my adrenal fatigue. Pretty simple I know but that’s how I’m trying to live my lifestyle these days, as simply and stress free as possible.

Last week’s appointment didn’t turn out as I had expected. First up, my nurse was happy with my surgery recovery and I’m going back again to see her and my doctor at five weeks before removing the compression garment. What’s another week and a half, it’s no big deal because it keeps me warm especially this time of year. I’m always rugged up so you don’t even know I’m wearing it. When it does come off I’ll be freezing like I was last time so I’ll have to be careful of that this time around. Last thing I need is a damn chill. One thing my nurse did comment on was my girls when I stripped down for my post-surgery inspection, she said that they’re very natural and look in proportion to my body which I took as a huge compliment especially from a nurse.
As for my face, it’s still to reactive from my fraxel treatment to go ahead and start IPL. So I’m booked in in four weeks time, my doctor thinks that we may only need the one session instead of the three. We’ll have to wait and see how my skin responds to the first one either way I’m not really bothered just as long as I get the results that I’m after. She’s also going to do my underarms again which I’m pleased about, no more sweaty underarms. I’m booked for an hour appointment, with the numbing gel and valium I’ll feel little pain.
Obviously walking every day will also help with my inflammation and healing so that’s progressing along nicely also. Every thing’s ticking along nicely and I couldn’t be happier with my results. So far so good.
