Well ladies, the verdict is in. I’m going back in to have my outer thigh and hips done again. Neither of us are completely satisfied with the end result in those areas so we’re going ahead and doing something about it sooner rather than later. As for everywhere else, I couldn’t be happier and neither could he. He said there is such a thing as removing to much fat and that can cause irreversible damage, so they always air on the side of caution when performing liposuction. Better safe than sorry I say. His staff are emailing me with all their available dates for surgery to select from so I’ll know sooner rather than later when I’m going back.
This obviously has a huge follow on effect for my plans to compete this year which obviously now I’m not going to be able to do. Oh well, everything in life happens for a reason and this is just another one of those times. Of course I’m disappointed but originally this year was all about me achieving and maintaining a healthy mind body and spirit and that’s what I’m going back to as my primary goal. I have a certain amount of mm’s I want to get to and that will be my focus. I’ll also be tackling my nutrition and training very differently now that I’m not competing but I’ll blog more about all of this in another post soon.
I also bumped into my facial rejuvination doctor whilst there, she said that although I suffered more obvious side effects the second time around it’s all normal and that I actually look considerably well. The thing with this procedure is that as time passes by the skin continually improves which is something to look forward too. I’m so not a patient person.
I’m waiting for the “before and after photos” to be emailed through, as soon as they are I’ll post up the comparisons for those of you who are still interested. They’re certainly very interesting.

How to Prepare Julienne Carrots
In traditional French cuisine, matchsticks cut from vegetables such as carrots are known as julienne. Here’s a quick and easy way to make them.
Step 1: Peel the carrots and cut into 8cm lengths. Trim 1 side and turn to lie flat. Repeat 3 more times to trim the remaining sides.
Step 2: Carefully cut 1 trimmed carrot piece lengthways into 2-4mm thick slices. Arrange the carrot slices in a stack.
Step 3: Carefully slice the carrot stack lengthways into matchsticks. Repeat with the remaining carrot pieces.

I’ve been getting some interesting results on the scales this past week so I’m trying a little experiment just for the week. I’m increasing my daily fat intake to see what effect it’ll have on me and on the scales. Time will tell I guess so we’ll have and see.
So what did you think of my brother’s slideshow yesterday? I have to admit, I was one proud big sister. Mum usually is at this show so in her absence I went along to support Heath. There were tears all round when me won, myself included.
Oh and I didn’t even get a chance to do my weekly blog visits or to leave comments. I’ve had family commitments all weekend and we all know that family has to come first, especially now for me.
There’s so much more going on I want to share with you but it’s getting late and I still have my uniform to iron for work. Until tomorrow….

Until today’s appointment it had been a month since I last saw Jacqui Louder. My appointments are now monthly because I’m not needing to see her as often which is good in the big scheme of my grieving. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my good days and my bad days but I’m trying to manage on my own. Like Rae, I’m going through another grieving stage by packing up the last of the personal effects belonging to Mum. There’s a lot to be said for going through this process and when I’m doing it it emotionally takes me back to that very raw feeling of losing her all over again. I’ve started, but still have so much more to do. It’s so emotionally exhausting, even worse than any physical exhaustion I have ever experienced. Nothing comes close to this feeling so things at home are challenging, not impossible but challenging. That’s why I’ve been so pre-occupied this week and will continue to be in the coming weeks. I’m also still waiting for the finalisation of both my parents estate. Until this is finalised I won’t have closure which unfortunately is out of my control at the moment.
So anyway, she’s all up to date now with where I’m at and what’s happening in my life. She was extremely happy with my introducing some grey areas into my daily life so I got a pat on the back for that. But she was also disappointed because I had neglected to let her know about some major things happening in my life at the time. She’s not one of those psychologist’s who takes your money and sends you on your merry way not caring about what happens in between your appointments. Put it this way, I have her personal mobile number so that I can contact her whenever I need her help. I’m just so thankful that she’s my psychologist, I couldn’t be in any better hands and couldn’t be happier with her service.
Once I had finished it was time for car shopping. Daniel came along with me whilst I test drove two possibilities which were a Mercedes CLC-Class Sports Coupe & Mazda 6 Luxury Sports. My contract for my salary sacrifice is going to expire soon so I have to figure out which option is best for me. Either way, both cars are going to have to be made so it’ll be three months before it is ready.
I’m now into my second week of resistance training post-surgery. Although my muscles are some what a little fatigued I haven’t lost as much strength and/or flexibility as I first thought which has been surprising. In all honesty I’m feeling great during and after my training. So in saying that, it’s not going to take me as long to return back to where I was as I first thought which is great news. I did have some doms last week which I was expecting and I welcomed them back with open arms. LOL!!
This week I’ve had to shuffle things around because I’m on another two day course in the city, I’m still able to achieve all my fitness goals for the week so it’s all good. Being flexible really is important for an athlete because life has a tendency to get in the way sometimes but with a little reshuffling here and there you can still do what needs to be done. Me personally, I see challenges like this as a positive. It not only keeps me on my toes but it’s keeping my body guessing because my routine changes due to work commitments. So here’s how this week is going to look now:
Monday: RT + Cardio (AM) & Cardio (PM)
Tuesday: RT + Cardio (AM) & Cardio (PM)
Wednesday: Rest Day
Thursday: Rest Day
Friday: RT + Cardio (AM) & Cardio (PM)
Saturday: Cardio Circuit (AM) & Cardio (PM)
Sunday: Cardio Circuit (AM) & Cardio (PM)
I do the best I can with what I’ve got and trust that what will be will be. Make today really count!
