Australia Day to me means listening to Triple J’s Hottest 100. What does it mean to you? My husband on the other hand is working in the Australia Day People’s March in Melbourne. He’ll be carrying the ADF Ensign. He looks so handsome in his service dress, I’m a total sucker for a good looking man in a uniform. Mum was the same, like mother like daughter I guess.
I got up early this morning so I could cook my husband his breakfast but alas I haven’t cooked mine. I’m going to make myself banana protein pancakes with sugar-free maple syrup, my favourite! *yummy* Here’s my latest recipe:

Ingredients
½ Cup Self Raising Flour (Sifted)
½ Cup Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (Sifted)
½ tsp Ground Cinnamon (Sifted)
2 tsp Bi-Carb Soda (Sifted)
½ tsp Vanilla Paste
2 x Whole Eggs
½ Cup No-Fat Milk
1 Banana
Sugar Free Maple Syrup
Instructions
1. Combine flour, protein, cinnamon, bi-carb, vanilla, eggs and milk in bowl.
2. Heat a non-stick pan over a medium to low heat.
3. Place 1/4 cup of pancake mixture into a non-stick frypan, moderate heat.
4. Place slices of banana onto mixture securing them into place.
5. When bubbles are visible turn over and cook other side until it’s golden brown.
4. Serve straight away and drizzle with sugar-free maple syrup.

I’ve also been working on my daily schedule over the long weekend, it’s still a work in progress but I’m getting there. This is what a training day looks like for me:

Well unfortunately I’m going to have to love you and leave you, it’s time for me to go. Happy Australia Day 2009!

Shar posted this post just recently and it really made me think, think about my life and what it was I really wanted out of it. It’s inspired me to spring clean my life so that I can be a better person for myself and those that I care about. After all, that’s all that matters to me.
Why is it that I care so much about what others think of me? It’s a ridiculous concept when I really think about it. I mean, I can only control what I say and what I do nothing else. Everything else is out of my control and certainly not my responsibility. To even think that it is, is unrealistic. So why do I do it? Because I care but unfortunately I care about the wrong things and for the wrong reasons. Instead I should be using all that time and energy on myself and in a more positive way. So this is exactly what I am going to do, I am going to spring clean my life so to speak and ensure I give myself the best possible chance of happiness and success.
“If I want different, I have to be prepared to do different” continues to be my daily inspiration. I’ve already been making some changes to ensure I’m moving positively towards my goal of achieving and maintaining health, fitness and happiness. As you all know I love my computer and love my extended online family. But unfortunately other things in my life need my time and energy which haven’t necessarily been getting it so I’ve gone back to the drawing board to see what I can do about that. It was relatively simple, do what needs to be done first then what I want to do. So I’m in the process of having a massive cleanup online to free up my time so it’s better spent elsewhere. Everything in life come at a sacrifice and this is just a part of the process to achieving my goals and dreams. There’s going to be many changes and this is only the beginning.
So on that note I’m going to make a start on de-cluttering my life online to free up my time and energy. That’s my focus for today and who knows what tomorrow’s will be.
Good Morning. What a glorious day it is outside today, makes you glad to be alive doesn’t it.
I’m multi tasking again by typing this post whilst I’m getting my french gel toes refilled at the beauty salon. Then it’s off to get my arms waxed this afternoon. Since having to have them waxed for competing I’ve never looked back and actually prefer them that way. If you haven’t guessed already I’m not a fan of body hair. LOL!!
“If I want different, I have to be prepare to do different” is such a meaningful quote for me because it’s how I live my life on a daily basis. I can’t quite put into words what it really means to me but everything about how I think and feel is just very different. I guess I’ve learnt and benefited from my life lessons through the deaths of my parents, it’s just a pity it had to happen that way. Mum & Dad have been playing on my mind for about a week now, everything reminds me of them which in turn makes me very sad. I’ll never have the pleasure of hearing their voices again, or be able to see them or feel their touch. What I wouldn’t give. *bawling my eyes out* My heart aches for them as if I were a five years old child. I just want my Mummy & Daddy back.
Daniel describes my heart as it no longer being a gaping wound but more of an open sore. He’s pretty accurate but it doesn’t take much for the sore to reopen and bleed all over again. Although I’ve had a good week on every other level my grieving has come back again for what ever reason. Like I’ve said before, it’s an emotional roller coaster ride and I just have to hang on and hope for the best.

So anyway, we’re watching a dvd this evening we’ve been meaning to watch for quite some time now The Dark Knight. Until tomorrow.

to find a good yoga DVD. I’m looking for something for beginners that I can do at home to help me with my flexibility as well as relaxation. I prefer something that’s slow and fluid in movement so if you have a suggestion I’d love to hear about it.
It’s Friday and we all know what that means don’t we, the weekend’s here! I don’t know about you but this week positively flew by for me and if this is a sample of the year to come then I’m going to buckle up because it’s going to be a very fast ride. Which won’t necessarily be a bad thing for us because we’re hoping to get posted at the end of the year to Brisbane. I really hope that we do, I so want a fresh start where I’m not surrounded by the daily reminders of my parents deaths. That and to be living closer to Lindy & JD. Now that would be the icing on the cake so to speak of course.
Trained back, hamstrings and calves this morning and I killed it. Deadlifts rock…. this is fast becoming one of my favourite exercises all over again.
Today I had laser hair removal. I’ve been having my armpits, brazilian and half leg lasered every six weeks and I’m really happy with the results I’ve been getting. There’s almost no hair left but until there’s none left I’ll continue getting treatments. Have hair will nuke, that’s my latest motto.
Well this weekend’s going to be super busy, I have a lot to organise in preparation for the coming week. But more about that next week.
I have two minutes to go until I log off so I’m out of here.

“Are you looking forward to another dinner of dry chicken breast with plain steamed broccoli and brown rice? Or how about your morning breakfast of plain oatmeal, with no butter or sugar? Bet you’re just quivering with anticipation for that.
No?
Well, who can blame you? In our condiment-happy society, you’re tempted by hundreds of varieties of special sauces and sticky syrups, all the way from the supermarket to the fast-food joint. Naturally, you crave a little something — anything — to make your bland, healthy food taste a little better.
But how can you do that and still have ripped abs?
Drop that ketchup bottle, and hold the mayo! Sure, they may taste good, but if you really want to give your meal a kick without having to kick yourself later, spice it up with herbs and spices.”
