Day 3 Post 1st Lipo Surgery

by Lia Halsall

The Ashley Centre

0400h I was up and out of bed this morning. I’m finding that I can’t sleep any longer than about four hours at any one time due to my back. The discomfort and pain wakes me up and the only way to relive it is to get up and move around followed by panadeine forte. Other than that I’m doing okay. I’m taking my medication as prescribed and being religious about my bcaa’s and l-glutamine, I’m taking 1/2 teaspoon of each three times a day. I’ll be spending my entire weekend at home and indoors out of the sun and ensuring I get adequate rest as well as getting up and walking around the house.

My face on the other hand resembles something like a cabbage patch kid for those of you that remember them. It’s swollen but little to no redness which is good. It feels like sunburn so there’s no real discomfort or pain there for that matter. My freckles and the sun damage is starting to go darker now which is exactly what is meant to happen before it all disappears. For the time being all I have to do is cleanse twice a day and continually applying moisturiser when it feels dry or tight.

Miss Katie’s coming over for a look see this afternoon, that should be interesting. But then again she was living with us when I had my breast augmentation so she’s definitely seen me at my worst. It’ll be good to see her again and hear all about her trip up to visit Ferny. By the sounds of it they had a blast together.

Oxygen Magazine arrived in the mail on Thursday. Natural Bodz is also on sale as well so I have plenty of reading material for the weekend to keep me entertained. I even hired out “Sex in the City” the movie to watch for a second time. I loved this movie.

Well I’ve been sitting at this computer long enough now so it’s time for me to get up and walk around for a while. I have you all have a fabulous weekend and don’t forget to slip, slop, slap if you’re out in the sun. More importantly, drink water.

Just wanted to say thank you for letting us join your journey. It’s realy great to read the “real” version of what happens between the before and after photos..
Can’t wait for the after photos!
Now I reckon a big money spinner would be to make those garments in fluro colours hehehehe

I’m more than happy to share my journey Cath. My compression garments are a fraction to short which is causing some unneccesary pain on the shoulders and the groin but we’re getting that fixed Monday.

After next week I’ll be taking weekly photos and posting them up until I hit the six week mark when the compression garment finally comes off. :-)

Hi Lia,

Wow, I am so impressed that you are sharing your experience with us. I hope that you are feeling ok. I am sure that the discomfort would be easing a tiny bit each day, I will hope you get a speedy recovery :)

Just to let you know, when you talked about the procedure and people not judging, all I could think was “I wish it were me”! It is something I would love to do. I admire you for just going for it.

All the best :)

Each day is a learning experience and there’s good and bad points about it. It’s taking some getting used to though but I have absolutely no regrets at this stage Rebecca. :-)

Actually my breast augmentation I found to be relatively easy for me, but everyone’s different Patricia. Given it did disrupt my sleep due to the discomfort of having to lay flat on my back. I didn’t have so much pain, more discomfort and inconvenience than anything.

My implants went over the muscle, did yours go partially or completely under the muscle? :-)

Hi Lia
Wow I am just catching up. I always visit your blog even if I do not have time to leave a message but I have just been too busy to log on very much at all lately. I take my hat off to you. I think a big percentage of us would love to have all of the procedures you are having done but probably our biggest challenges, well especially for me would be my husband approving. You have an awesome husband. Go for it girl, as you know we only live once and you need to make the most of it. I can’t wait to follow your journey and feel very special that I am included in on your journey. Anyone who has any challenges with what you are doing is not worthy of being called a friend. Thank you so much for sharing and being honest.
Live with Passion and I hope you are not in too much pain.
Kimmy

I’m getting there slowly, it’s certainly not easy but I don’t regret getting it done. Well certainly not yet anyway Julia. LOL!! :-)
