This year I have set up monthly short term goals to help work towards my long term goal and here is a picture of Short Term Goal #1. Previously I’ve only had to have two sizes of uniforms, off-season and comp-season. That was until last year when I had to get myself a larger pair of DPCU’s (Disruptive Pattern Camouflage Uniform) in July. Back then they fitted me comfortably but by the end of the year they looked like they were spray painted on. To say wearing them was uncomfortable is a complete understatement.
Previously I have posted about breaking away from being so numbers focused for a number of different reasons. Of course, numbers aren’t the enemy and I do use them but only as a guide. So my first goal is to fit into my uniform comfortably by the time I return back to work on Monday 19th January 2009. That is two weeks from tomorrow and as you can see I’ve printed off a calender for that time period.
This is hanging up in my home office as a visual reminder of why I’m making smarter choices with my training and my nutrition. At the end of each day I cross off a box so that I’m one day closer to achieving my goal. Like I keep saying “if I want different, I have to be prepared to do different” and this is something very different for me from what I’ve done in the past.
So for the next two weeks I’ll be doing everything within my power to ensure I achieve this first goal. I have no idea what weight I need to be to fit back into this uniform comfortably and in all honesty I don’t care. Just as long as I do what I’ve set out in my goal framework I have no doubt I’ll be more comfortable then what I was at the end of last year.
I also have goals set ready for February, March & April. I hadn’t planned them as goals, they kind of happened that way. But you’ll have to wait and find out what they are when that time rolls around. Last but certainly not least is that I’ll be taking and posting my monthly progress photos this week. Be sure to check back for them later on in the week. Until then, have a great week!
