What have I done?

by Lia Halsall

Stressed

Customising my new blog isn’t as easy as it had first appeared, I knew it was going to be challenging but not like this. When you’re hosting your own website you don’t have a layout to click and drag gadgets around on, it’s all about css and html and knowing where to put what where and the list goes on and on and on. You get the picture. I’m not quite sure what to do at this point, the books and forums I have and use aren’t helping me much if at all so I’m kind of in between a rock and a hard place.

I’ve been up since 0200h which is a fair indication that this is taking some what of a toll on me and my sleep. If anyone has any suggestions then I’m all ears because I don’t mind admitting that I need help with this. It’s now 0620h and thankfully I’m on holidays because I’m heading back to bed to try and get some sleep before heading into the city for my weekly appointment with my sports psychologist.

I’ll be back to post again. It’s 1715h and I’m back again as promised. Boy oh boy I’d never recommend surviving on three hours of sleep unless it was absolutely necessary. My brain is friend and I seriously feel like poo for it. Oh well, I know who’ll sleep well tonight. LOL!!

I’ve finally had a win today with customisation. I now have a black background and a white foreground, just what I wanted. Now if only I could figure out my issues with my comments, old and the new.*grrr* I’ll be happy if I can achieve one new thing a day because at least then I’m learning and moving towards my goal of running my own customised website. I can only hope.

Can’t…..think…..straight…..anymore…..brain’s…..hurting. I’ll be back tomorrow after I’ve had a good night’s sleep and can think straight. LOL!!

Operation Change – Part II

by Lia Halsall

Please bare with me while I work through Operation Change Part II. Part I was already executed during the week as you can see, only difference now is I’ve returned back to my original domain name of http://www.liahalsall.blogspot.com/

Today I jumped in feet first and signed up with a web host which is where my domain name http://www.liahalsall.com/ is parked. So it’s a little all over the place at the moment but I’ll get it sorted this week, I hope. LOL!!

Also in the process of the change over I lost all my blogroll links. I’ve restored some but there were a lot of them and I can’t remember them all of the top of my head. If you were on my blogroll and haven’t reappeared on there again then please let me know so I can add you back on, thank you.

I’m all blogged out….

by Lia Halsall

for the time being. LOL!! For the past two days I’ve been stuck to my trusty notebook re-designing both LiaHalsall.com & Fit For Consumption. Now they both have fresh new looks ready for the new year. Plus the current templates I’m using is also easier to view on my iphone so there’s also that.

As for my spring cleaning what spring cleaning! I didn’t even make a start on it. I wasted valuable time procrastinating about doing it when it could’ve all been done by now. Don’t you hate that!

Putting more and more things off in life only adds to our existing list of things to do which by now is about a mile long. Deb once told me that decluttering our homes helps to declutter inside our heads and I for one would have to agree with her. For some years now I’ve lived in the moment and everything else took a back seat. Mum & Dad are gone now and as sad as this may seem it frees up a lot of my time. I know which option I’d prefer it but we all know that that’s not possible. I’m still living and I have to do what needs to be done at home and in my head to create a more organised path for my next health, fitness and happiness journey if I want to succeed which of course I do. So my spring cleaning of more than a physical act, it’s also very emotional but essential in helping me to help myself. So here’s my list for today:

★ Guest Room
★ Healing Room
★ Laundry
★ My Bathroom
★ Work Room

I’ll come back at the end of the day and tick off what I’ve actually achieved. It’s not whether I tick all five boxes or not just as long as I make a start. Well there’s no time like the present to get started. Thanks for listening to my rambling.

My Cooler Bag Contents

by Lia Halsall

1. Plastic Fork, Knife & Spoon
As I discovered earlier this year you can’t fly with metal fork, knives or spoons due to the new airline policies. So I bought myself a packet of plastic cutlery from my supermarket which are quite sturdy and also dishwasher safe.

2. Salt & Pepper
I’m a big salt and pepper fan so I never leave home without it. Salt brings out the natural flavours in food and pepper helps increase your metabolism.

3. Hand Sanitizer
Katie got me onto this idea. No matter where you are or what you’re doing if you can’t wash your hands before eating your next meal this will definitely suffice.

4. Wet Ones
If you’re anything like me when eating these are a must. I’m hopeless with food and always seem to get it positively everywhere on me. LOL!!

5. 2 x Ice Bricks
Last but not least, these are to help keep your food fresh in the cooler bag.

So what do you have in your cooler bag then?

Positive Results!

by Lia Halsall

Yesterday was my weekly weigh in and I’m happy to report that there’s been a drop in my weight and body fat. I’ve posted all about my training, nutrition and head space this past week over in my Large 2 Lean folder at LindyOlsen.com’s Forum.

But it doesn’t stop there because now that I’ve decided to enter in the Queen of the Lake I have to look at my training requirements and make sure I’m working towards increasing my walking fitness in preparation for it. Considering the current state of my Asic Gel-Kayano’s I think I’m going to have to buy myself a new pair of runners. Considering I seldom run and I mean seldom I’m thinking of changing to walking specific runners. I’ll probably go into The Athlete’s Foot and get another FitPrint done to ensure I’m getting the right runners for my current needs.

Well anyway, today’s the beginning of spring cleaning my house. It’s long over due and it’ll help give the house a new and different feel to it by changing rooms and re-arranging our furniture. Today I’m hoping to achieve the following rooms:

★ Guest Room
★ Healing Room
★ Laundry
★ My Bathroom
★ Work Room

I had an epiphany last weekend and I’ve given up drinking alcohol. It’s a long story and I won’t bore you with the details but I have the full support of my wonderful husband as well as my sports psychologist. They both agree that I’m doing this for the right reasons and that it’s not my all or nothing behaviour. This alone will help me in leaps and bounds towards my health, fitness and happiness goal.

Well Daniel just got home from the supermarket with fresh ingredients for our lunch and I am starving. Have a great weekend every body!
