Breast Augmentation Update

Well folks, here I am in the flesh. It's one day short of exactly two weeks since my breast augmentation and I couldn't be happier with my results. And this is me in my Size 12 C/D Breast Surgery Bra taken right before typing this blog. After trying on lingerie yesterday whilst shopping I'm going to be a perfect Size 12C. :o)

Bio-Oil is the product I chose to use by applying it twice a day both morning and evening. Bio-Oil is highly effective in helping to reduce the possibility of new stretch marks forming and increases the elasticity of the skin. Bio-Oil also helps improve the appearance of new scars from surgery and is also highly effective in helping to maintain the elasticity of scar tissue. It contains Vitamin A & E, Calendula, Lavender, Rosemary, Chammomile & PurCellin Oil. It's a dry oil and smells quite lovely. :o)

I'm still wearing a small piece of tape over the scar which I replace every couple of days. This is just to prevent the direct rubbing of the breast surgery bra on the scar. :o)

Lisa asked me a question about what I can and can't do so this paragraph is for her. The very first week following surgery you're not to drive a vehicle and rest as much as possible. This is where the swelling is at it's absolute maximum and then it starts to settle in the second week. Once the stitches come out after seven days (five days in my case due to xmas) you can return back to a normal life. I can do everything (except gym of course) albiet slowly and much more cautiously which apparently is normal behaviour following breast augmentation, it's better to be safe than sorry in my opinion. I find pretty much anything that involves raising my arms above parallel is still a little bit sore but still managable. You simply just have to listen to your body and what it tells you that you can and can't do. Like we've all experienced after training we often forget how much we use our chest muscles to do everyday things up until now. I personally don't move or lift anything heavy and ask for help, a speedy recovery is much more important to me at this point in time. I think that just about covers everything but if I think of something I'll be sure to post it up. :o)

It's still very surreal for me the fact that I've actually had breast augmentation and now have breasts again but I'm sure in time that will change. LOL!! Cya later. :o)

My Xmas Day Lunch

Xmas Lunch was a huge feast! Mum did absolutely everything from buying the food, to preparing it the night before, then getting up early the very next morning to starting the cooking and serving it up right on time for all to enjoy. :o)

Here's Heath (my brother) getting rather excited about all the great food there was to eat. Xmas Lunch consisted of four roasts: chicken, turkey, pork and lamb all served with the choice of a gravy and/or apple sauce. Then there were the ten vegetables: tomato and onion pie, sweet potatoe, butternut pumkin, zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, beans, peas and carrotts. It was the feasts of feasts. :o)

Well here we all are sitting down outside for lunch basking in the days glorious sunshine. I mean, you have to ask yourself what more could you possibly want out of life! :o)

This is me with my compact digital camera taking photos of everyone. I much prefer being on this end of the camera instead of in front, dont you! :o)

Daniel was sitting directly accross from me at the table so was right in my aim of fire. Have camera, will photograph. LOL!! Here he is with his facial xmas fur as I like to call it. It's the only time of year that he has enough time of work to actually grow a goatie. You see, in the air force facial hair other then a mostache isn't permitted. All males have to be clean shaven every single day for work.

Here's Heath & Jason (Heath's Partner). This was the very first time that we'd all met him and have to say that he's lovely. After all the antics that were going on whilst they were there I'm sure he now think's that our entire family's crazy. LOL!!

Heath & Mick (Heath's Friend) decided that after lunch they would relive live their childhood by playing in the sand pit. They looked some what a little out of place wouldn't you say. LOL!!

And here's two of my favourite boys just hanging out. Jett's hair was being blown around due to the wind. Some days I do worry that if the wind were strong enough that he just might get picked up and blown away. Like Toto in the "Wizard of Oz". LOL!!

Then Heath got bored and decided he wanted to play a game. Next thing we knew he'd dragged out boules which is a french game played with metal balls. A first for everyone but a lot of good fun. :o)

Even Odin wanted to get in on the action of the game, he definitely bit off more than he could chew this time around. LOL!!

Overall the day was a huge success and much food, alcohol and good fun was had by all. :o)

Boxing Day Movie Releases

Today I'm going to the movies to see "Happy Feet". Boxing Day movies are the best, only problem is deciding which one to see. Last year we saw "The Chronicles Of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe", it was one of my favourites growing up. :o)

A Visit from St. Nicholas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On Cupid! On, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

You can

You can learn, and adapt, and adjust, and persist. You can decide what must be done and take the action that will make it happen.

You can set ambitious goals for yourself and then do what is necessary to reach them. You can dream incredible, meaningful dreams and then make them real.

You can stumble a dozen or a hundred times and keep getting back up until you stumble no more. You can come up against tough, stubborn challenges and then find a way to work through them.

You can live each moment with integrity in a world that seems not to always value it. You can experience real joy and spread it to others.

You can create value and appreciate beauty. You can follow your highest vision.

As the old year draws to a close and a new one begins, keep in mind that you can do all this and more. You can and, if you choose, you will.

Quote for the Day

"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems,
but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"
-- Herm Albright

They say....

that the early bird catches the worm and they're right! Starting your day early really makes a difference. Everyone was up incredibly early this morning. Mum started at 0300hrs because she had to drive and hour and a half to pick my brother and his partner up from the bus station. Daniel started at 0400hrs becuase he wanted to go fishing in the Murray River. Here's hoping he catches our dinner. And as for me, I slept to 0500hrs. Let me tell you, I seriously think we're a house of crazy people. LOL!! And it's only going to get worse once everyone gets back home this morning. *insert evil laugh here*

There are just some things about being home that you can't get anywhere else. I was in the kitchen making myself a nice long black coffee when I heard a flock of cockatoos fly over the house. Now to the average person that doesn't mean anything but to me it means that I'm home. It's a sound I'm all to familiar with. Growing up I even had them as pets. Like I've said many times before it's the little things in life that matter that we all to often take for granted. :o)

WNBF (World Natural Bodybuilding Federation) Asia-Pacific has recently started up in Australia. This is great news because it give us the competitor yet another federation option. 2007 is looking to be an even bigger and better year for all things bodybuilding. I personally can't beleive how much this sport has grown in leaps and bounds in just the two short years that I've been a part of it. It's exciting to say the least. :o)

Miss Katie bless her, is at home today and seriously thinks that she can out blog me with the amount of posts. LOL!! I mean, who is she kidding. Bring it!

Well I best make a move, it's time to get out of my pj's and beautified. Don't worry, I'll be back again. :o) xo

Girls just want to have fun.... LOL!!

We arrived safe and sound but only just........

The weather certainly wasn't the greatest for a road trip this afternoon. We tackled a strong head wind, it was grey and overcast then it poured down with rain! We arrived home an hour late due to these circumstances only to find the under carriage of our toyota surf and boat all covered in oil from our own engine. *uh oh* Daniel had to head straight out and buy some de-greaser so that he could take them over to the local car wash to wash them down so he could see exactly what he was dealing with. He seems to think that maybe it's the sump gasket which isn't really a big thing but unfortunately will cost us in man hours actually getting to it to replace. We're going to check out a local mechanic tomorrow morning and see if by chance we can book it in next week for repair. I look at the glass half full as I always do and the fact of the matter is that we arrived safe and sound without accident for ourselves or others on the road and that's all that matters. :o)

My appointment this morning was over and done with before I even knew it. There were only three external stiches on each incision much to my pleasant surprise, one either end and one in the middle. I obviously couldn't see what was going on because I was laying down on my back but it didn't hurt like I had thought. *thank goodness* My hubby came in with me as he's just as much of a part of this process as I am, I don't know where I'd be without his love and support. I had the same nurse I had for the pre-op for the post-op. She is really lovely and said that I'd healed well and that everything looked great! Of course I had a whole bunch of questions for her of which she was only to happy to answer for me. I now have to remove and re-apply tape every couple of days to protect the incision until it's 100% healed. I can also start applying a scar product every time it's removed which will also help with the healing process and the overall look of it. The tape's extremely thin in texture as well as being skin coloured so you don't even notice it when it is on. I've also gotton used to wearing my breast surgery bra, like anything it just takes time to adapt to something new before it becomes habit. So at four weeks out I can stop wearing tape and the surgery bra. So we know what this means, don't we? That's right, it means lingerie shopping over in Chapel Street. Like I needed an excuse anyway. LOL!! I've also been given the go ahead to kick off with some light cardio starting off next week. *woo hoo* Like I had planned I'll start with walking every day and then take it from there. Then my next appointment will be at six weeks out for a final consultation and the after photos. And then that's it! Pretty quick and simple if you ask me. :o)

Well it's getting late and I really want to research futher into Kosmea Organic Rose Hip Oil & Bio Oil for my incision scars before going to bed. Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite! LOL!! :o) xo

Responsibility

The moment you stop blaming your misery on others, it disappears. The moment you take full and complete responsibility for your life, you jump to a whole new level of effectiveness and achievement.

Imagine going through each day with no frustrations, no anxiety, and no regrets. Imagine putting every bit of your energy, in every moment, into meaningful, productive, joyful and fulfilling pursuits.

Imagine being able to easily put your intentions into action. Imagine being able to maintain a clear sense of purpose and a rock-solid focus.

Choose to accept responsibility for everything that touches your life, and you'll increasingly find yourself living in such a world. Your eyes will be opened to the beautiful, overwhelming abundance of positive possibilities.

Have your blaming and fighting and running and hiding and avoiding ever brought you anything of real value? Maybe it's time to turn around and realize that responsibility is truly a gift rather than a burden.

Choose now to accept that gift of responsibility. And you will surely experience profound fulfillment.

Another hot one on it's way......

The Weather Channel's last reading for my suburb at 0520hrs was 29.4°C. Forecast for Central Victoria, "Dry tonight. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms developing from the west on Friday. Warm northerly wind strengthening ahead of a late, cooler, gusty south to southwesterly change." It's going to be another hot one folks, so make sure if you're outdoors you apply the slip, slop, slap principle okay. :o)

And lets not forget about water hydration either. Here are some facts for you:

WATERS IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE BODY

Water helps nearly every part of the human body function. Considering that our bodies are 55-75% water, understanding water's important role in the body can be a fountain of health. The following are just some of the important things water does in the body:

Liquid in a range of body temperatures
Media for biochemical reactions
Efficient cooling effect
High latent heat prevents freezing
Water is required for expiration.
Carries nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body.
Moistens oxygen for breathing.
Protects and cushions vital organs.
Helps body absorb nutrients.
Removes waste.
Cushions joints.

WATER FACTS

The human body contains between 55-75% water depending on the ratio of body fat to muscle.

The human brain is 75% water,
Blood is 92% water.
Muscles are 75 % water
Bones are 22% water

Water is vital for body temperature regulation, therefore fluid replacement is vital. During summer when the temperature increases, your body requires even more fluid to maintain it's normal body temperature. Even when there is zero intake of water there are always unavoidable losses.

Water In: Solid Foods (1000ml), Metabolic Water (300ml) and Beverages (1000ml)
Water Out : Evaporation (min 1000ml), Sweat , Faeces (100+ ml) Urine

HYDRATION AND YOUR NEEDS

BENEFITS OF GOOD HYDRATION

DEHYDRATION

It is not a reliable measure of water need. It is important to pay attention to the signals of water loss and minimise risk of dehydration before thirst sets in. Establishing a strong fluid habit is important for everyone.

1-5% Thirst, vagueness. Discomfort, increased pulse, nausea
6-10% Dizziness, headache, laboured breathing, walking difficulties
11-20% Delirium, twitching, inability to swallow. Severe lack of water, or extreme dehydration, when more than 1/2 to 2 litres of fluid are lost can be life threatening.

DO YOU NEED MORE?
Keep in mind that there are other factors that may require you to drink more water. Here's a look at a few:

Dry Air Up There: To combat low humidity levels on aeroplanes drink one 250mL serving of water for every hour in the air.
Winter Woes: The colder it gets outside the more energy your body requires to maintain a 37oC degree temperature, AND the more water your body needs. So be sure to drink extra water in cold weather.
Flu Blues: Maladies such as pneumonia and the flu can sometimes lead to dehydration, so be sure to drink more water when you are sick.
Beat the Heat: If you plan to spend considerable time outside in warm weather, prepare by drinking one to two extra 250mL servings of water.
Mums Need More: Due to high concentrations of water in breast milk nursing mothers require three additional 250mL servings of water per day.
Pregnancy Increases Need: You'll gain as much water weight as baby weight when you are pregnant. This is in the form of increased blood volume, amniotic fluid, and tissue fluids. Be sure to drink 8 to 12, 250mL servings a day.

HYDRATION CALCULATOR

In February, 2004 the US National Academy of Sciences (NAS) issued a report* on the Dietary Reference Intakes for Water, Potassium, Sodium, Chloride, and Sulfate that estimates an adequate daily intake level of water for women of just under 3 litres and 4 litres for men. The report further stated that about 80% of the estimated total water intake is met by consuming water and beverages, while the other 20% is derived from foods.

While the NAS report mentions water and beverages, bottled water is an excellent choice for hydration for those who enjoy its refreshing taste and consistent high quality and safety, and for consumers wishing to avoid or moderate calories, caffeine, sugar, artificial colorings or other additives.

The amount of water you need to be adequately hydrated varies depending on your temperature, weight, level and duration of exercise, and many other factors. We have provided a guide below to help you assess your needs according to the intensity of the activity undertaken. The greater the intensity the more water you body will need.

Now where was I before I got distracted, honestly sometimes I really do go off on a tangent. LOL!! Well todays looking to be the first productive day I've had all week. I'm continuing to heal well of which I'm really quite pleased about. At 1000hrs I'm heading into my doctors clinic to have my stitches removed from the incisions under the breast crease and some new waterproof tape applied. I have to wear this tape of which I'll be allowed to change when needed for another six weeks to protect the scar and allow for a more hygenic and better healing process. The same applies for the breast surgery bra, other then for showers I wear this 24/7. Following any breast augmentation, your doctor will ask you to wear a support or compression garment or in my case a breast surgery bra. By wearing this after my breast augmentation it's essential to improve blood circulation, minimize swelling after the procedure, keep my silicone gel implants in their correct position, flush the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerate the healing process and allow me to return to daily routines sooner. It also provides support to surgical areas for more comfort and helps the skin fit better to its new contours. My breast surgery bra can also help prevent me from experiencing some “throbbing” sensations after surgery. Finally, my breast surgery bra can also help reduce tension my new
